Red-Hot Minto Scorches Otters
|
Octopi center fielder Lenny Minto had his way with Tulsa pitching today at Nebraska Aquarium and mauled them for 6 hits in 11 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Otters ruined his great day by toppling the Octopi, 6-5.
"I had a great day, but you've got to give Tulsa credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 6 hits."
"Oh, we noticed what Minto did today," Otters skipper Eugene Jackson said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him."
Lenny Minto singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 9th, struck out in the 11th, tripled in the 14th, singled in the 16th, flied out in the 18th, grounded out in the 21st and grounded out in the 23rd.
In 74 games Minto is hitting .330 this season with 109 hits, 1 home run, 37 RBIs, 3 walks, .345 OBP and has scored 42 runs.
