Tulsa pitcher Javier Ariza gave the Cougars all they could handle, but in the end, Valley View left Hillandale Grounds with a 4-3 win. Ariza allowed 2 earned runs on 3 hits over 6 innings. Valley View reliever Sarda Chitturu was credited with the win, to go to 6-3. Mark Morgan took the loss for Tulsa. The 8th-place Otters have lost 4 straight games.
Gene Payne had the critical at-bat for Valley View. With two out in the bottom of the ninth inning, he reached on an error by the SS, driving in 2 runs. It gave Valley View the 4-3 walk-off win.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Payne said.
