The Phoenix Hotspur Academy got a superb performance from third baseman Nathan Pruitt, but the San Diego Clippers still won the game, 7-3. Pruitt was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. The save was credited to Pascal Bourdon, his 10th. San Diego is now 40-44, Phoenix 46-38.

San Diego second baseman Zhen-bang Kwan helped the Clippers to the win. In the top of the third inning, the 20-year old shortstop stroked a run-scoring single. For the game, Kwan was 2 for 5 with a double.

"There's still time to turn this season around," said Kwan.
