Otters Stymie Fort Knox, Take 3-1 Win
|
The Tulsa Otters defeated the Fort Knox Centennial, 3-1. Earning player of the game honors was left fielder Bill Cobb, who went 2 for 3 with a double. The win was credited to Jim Stanton in relief. His record improves to 4-7. Arturo Mesa took the loss. At 38-41, Tulsa is in 7th place in the Premier R.
Cobb had a big at-bat with a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the third inning, when he hit a run-scoring double. The Otters went on to win.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Cobb told reporters after the game.
