Baby Lakers Drop Warheads, 7-5
|
The Bompton Baby Lakers topped the Amarillo Warheads by the score of 7-5, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Roy Snider. Snider was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Baby Lakers. Bompton reliever Peter Caldwell picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Bill Tennant absorbed the loss. Bompton is now 27-35, while Amarillo is 32-30.
Snider contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Bompton in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 5-4, Snider took a fastball from Anthony Moyle and stroked the home run to right. His 7th home run of the season allowed the Baby Lakers to leap in front, 7-5.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Snider told the Bompton Daily News.
