Hirano goes 4-for-5 as Warheads Drub Deer
|
Tsuneari Hirano made an impact in the 14-0 Amarillo win over Sheridan. Hirano, who is tied for 10th in the 3R in RBI with 12, went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. Anthony Moyle got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Deer to no earned runs on 4 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 0. Ed Barrick earned his 1st save in 1 tries.
Geoff May went 1 for 5. He scored 2 times against the Deer. In the bottom of the first inning, he reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 2 runs, putting Amarillo in front, 2-0.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Hirano. "And not try to do too much."
The win brings the Warheads to 9-7, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
