The Canonniers de Quebec got a sterling performance from pitcher Brian Holman, but the Submarinos still prevailed, 2-1. Holman was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He came in in relief and pitched to 20 batters . The win takes Amarillo to 1-1.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Amarillo third baseman Richello Oliva, facing Brian Holman, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Submarinos the 2-1 win.

"This place sure got loud," said Theodore Johnston, the Amarillo manager.
