Victory Pushes Uruguayans Record to 43-16
|
The Germantown Uruguayans got a strong performance from pitcher Dragutin Petrovic, who stymied the Newcastle offense en route to a 3-2 win at Ballpark of Albuquerque. The Uruguayans bumped their record to 43-16 with this latest triumph.
The Uruguayans got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jurgen Flurgenburgen. For the game, Flurgenburgen was 1-3, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 3rd hit of the season gave Germantown a 3-1 lead.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Flurgenburgen said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
