Newcastle first baseman José García picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Union City Hillers, 6-5. Newcastle reliever Alfredo Zamora picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Orlando Hernández shouldered the loss. With the win, Newcastle has a record of 25-32. Union City falls to 30-27.

García had a game-changing home run in the top of the 11th. On a 1-0 slider from Orlando Hernández, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Mermen a 6-5 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for García.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said García.
