Taylor Helps Elephants Run Win Streak to 5
|
The Gibtown Elephants defeated the Moose Jaw Canucks, 11-3, in USSL Rookie action at Foresters Stadium, with Gibtown second baseman Arnie Taylor named player of the game. Gibtown starter Ernesto López was credited with the win after throwing 114 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 7-5. The Elephants improved to a lofty 43-14.
Chad Valentín chipped in for Gibtown with a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI.
