Hillers Knock Off Snowpeople at Crusaders Ballpark
The Ellesmere Island Snowpeople and Union City Hillers brought some excitement to Crusaders Ballpark.

A 3-RBI performance from third baseman Ezequiel Oacia, who is tied for 10th in the SR in bases on balls with 21, led the Union City Hillers to a 8-3 win over the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople. Eisse van Gils picked up the win with 7.2 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 8 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 3-0.

West Monroe, Louisiana-born Steffen Jones came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd and the Hillers trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run double to left-center to put Union City on top.

Jones called the win "a collective effort."

Union City is now 29-25, while Ellesmere Island is 29-25.
