|
Wayne Quint pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Gibtown Elephants, despite Quint's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople at Corpus Christi Grounds. Ellesmere Island reliever Omar Morales picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Wayne Quint absorbed the loss. The Snowpeople now have a mark of 20-20.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Ellesmere Island first baseman César Rivera, facing José Rosales, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Snowpeople the 2-1 win.
"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Rivera said.
