Pizza Rats Continue Skid Thanks to Pittman, Interns
|
The Capital Hill Interns topped the Staten Island Pizza Rats by the score of 7-1, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Ken Pittman. Pittman hit 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for the Interns. Capital Hill starter Henry Stribling was credited with the win after throwing 118 pitches over 8 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. The loss drops Staten Island to 9-8.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth when Pittman, who is tied for 10th in the SR in extra base hits with 7, hit a 3-run home run. It propelled the Interns into the lead, 4-1.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Pittman said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
