Di Rips Gibtown for 5 Hits
|
Canucks third baseman Qi-chao Di had his way with Gibtown pitching today at Wrigley Field and mauled them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Elephants ruined his great day by toppling the Canucks, 7-3.
"I had a great day, but you've got to give Gibtown credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits."
"Oh, we noticed what Di did today," Elephants skipper said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him."
Qi-chao Di doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Di is hitting .321 so far this season with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. He has 9 hits including 1 home run, 1 walk and .345 OBP.
