Gorre Rips Tulsa for 5 Hits
|
Isagani Gorre put on a hitting clinic today as the Ogallala Octopi dumped the Tulsa Otters 9-1 at Ballpark of Hughesville.
The Ogallala shortstop made Tulsa defenders earn their pay, lashing Tulsa pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Gorre said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Isagani Gorre doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Gorre is hitting .316 this year with 5 home runs and 41 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .333, 6 walks and scored 38 times.
