The San Diego Clippers topped the Valley View Cougars by the score of 7-6, with the biggest share of the credit going to second baseman Zhen-bang Kwan. Kwan went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles for the Clippers on the day. San Diego reliever Shihab bin Salim was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Ronald Hall took the loss. San Diego is now 17-20. Valley View is 15-22.
Cleveland Mortimer's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a fastball from Ronald Hall for a run-scoring single. It put San Diego in front, 6-5.
In postgame comments to the San Diego Bulletin, Kwan said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
