Tight Tilt Goes to Octopi, 3-2
|
The Ogallala Octopi did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Tulsa Otters at Ballpark of Hughesville. Nobody did more than pitcher Ezra Peterson, who captured player of the game honors. Peterson, now 2-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. Pepe Pereira got credit for the save for Ogallala. It was his 1st of the year.
Lenny Minto hit a run-scoring double off Miracle Popoola in the top of the sixth, which put the Octopi in front, 1-0. In addition to the double, Minto had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.
"We put together a nice win," Peterson said.
The win moves Ogallala to a record of 4-2.
