The Tulsa Otters downed the Valley View Cougars, 8-3, at Ballpark of Hughesville. The Otters were led by Jim Schroeder, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Carlos Vargas got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 7 innings, giving up 3 runs on 10 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 2. Brian Rowe had a big run-scoring double for the Otters in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Tulsa trailing 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Sarda Chitturu and stroked the double to left. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Otters ahead, 2-1.
