Black Cats Stay Hot With 4-3 Win
|
Fans who came to Mango Yard watched the Gwinnett County Black Cats and the Provo Mango fight to the finish.
The Gwinnett County Black Cats racked up a win at Mango Yard, bumping off the Provo Mango, 4-3. Lawrence Lane, who started for Gwinnett County, pitched effectively for his team. The save was credited to Ming-hoa Zhou, his 3rd.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the fifth inning. That's when second baseman Curt Taylor, the 24 overall pick in the 2032 draft, drew a walk. The Black Cats went on to win.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Gwinnett County skipper Bill Beasley. "I can't complain."
Gwinnett County has 7 straight wins, Provo 3 straight losses.
