Tight Tilt Goes to Hotspur U-21, 3-2
|
The Phoenix Hotspur U-21 faced a tough opponent in South Beach pitcher Pu-feng Zhou, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Hotspur Kiddie Complex by a final score of 3-2. Zhou went 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Getting the save was Neal Burns, his 13th. The Blaze have now dropped 5 straight.
The Hotspur U-21 got a lift from center fielder Brad Lamb who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fourth inning off Pu-feng Zhou. It was his 15th walk of the season and put Phoenix in front, 3-2.
"It was our day today," Lamb told the Phoenix Herald. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
