Blue Sox Edge Tula, 3-2
|
The Chicago Tula got a sterling performance from pitcher Currito Fonseca, but the Blue Sox still prevailed, 3-2. Fonseca was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Jen-ta Men recorded the save for Valley, his 2nd of the season. Valley is now 29-20, 2 games up in the Premier A.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the 11th inning. With two out, Spartak Gonjarov hit a 1-2 fastball from Alfred Osuch for a run-scoring single. It put Valley in front, 3-2.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Gonjarov told the Valley Bulletin.
