Mango Clip Blue Sox, 7-6
|
The Provo Mango beat the Valley Blue Sox, 7-6, at The Heron Refuge. The Mango got a fine performance from first baseman Matt Palmer, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Mango now have a mark of 21-17.
With a runner on 1st and one out in the top of the third inning, left fielder Joe Chute delivered big for the Mango. Provo was leading 1-0 when he belted a 2-run home run.
Chute expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
