Tula Solve Hotspur U-21, 5-2
|
The Chicago Tula stymied the Phoenix Hotspur U-21, 5-2, at Ramblers Ballpark. Frank de Blooys, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times for Chicago. Chicago reliever Morgan Beckwith picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Felipe Filipe was saddled with the loss. The win puts the Tula at 18-19, while the Hotspur U-21 drop to 13-24.
Had Román Sánchez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Sánchez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Tula.
Sánchez told a Chicago Herald reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
