Valley used a superb performance from starting pitcher José Pacheco to down the Delaware 1787 BC, 9-1. Pacheco, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs.

With runners on 1st and 2nd and two out in the top of the ninth inning, third baseman Donnie Magee delivered big for the Blue Sox. Valley was leading 6-1 when he belted a 3-run home run.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Pacheco said.
