The Provo Mango topped the South Beach Blaze, 6-3, in USPL Single A action at Mango Yard. The player of the game was Provo pitcher and Vajszlz, Hungary native Aatu Valkki. The winning pitcher was Valkki, now 2-2. He tossed 9 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. Provo is now 15-12, South Beach 13-14.
Galveston, Texas-born Matt Palmer came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Mango trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Provo on top.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Palmer said.
