The Delaware 1787 BC grabbed a 7-5 win over the Put-In-Bay BC at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. Delaware left fielder Gary Jenkins was 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 to earn player of the game honors. Kent Horton got the win, improving to 3-2. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 7 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 0. Butch Cummings closed the door for Delaware, picking up his 7th save of the year.
The 1787 BC got a big at-bat from third baseman Carlos Mendoza. For the game, Mendoza was 1 for 5. In the top of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 26th hit of the season gave Delaware a 2-1 lead.
