Blue Sox Jolt Blaze with Late Rally
|
The Valley Blue Sox picked up a win at The Ballpark on the Beach, knocking off the South Beach Blaze, 4-3. Starting pitcher Jessie Young, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Valley reliever Curt Wright picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Carlos Cardoso was saddled with the loss. Valley has an impressive 14-7 record.
Tomás Cameros made it 3-2 in favor of Valley when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with one out in the top of the eighth. The Blue Sox went on to win.
"Both teams played hard," said Valley manager Willis Crawford.
