Expos Cut Down Chukars, 7-4
|
Niagara Falls second baseman Rusty Fox made his presence felt in the 7-4 Expos triumph over the Idaho Falls Chukars. Fox went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. William Penn was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 9 strikeouts. Even with the win, the Expos have a dismal 28-63 record.
Niagara Falls took control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Michael Hughes hit a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Expos.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Hughes.
