The Washington Generals got a superb performance from pitcher Kentaro Kato. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Niagara Falls. The Expos won the game, 6-5. In spite of the loss, Kato was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Niagara Falls now has a 3-game win streak.

The Expos were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when designated hitter Michael Hughes turned a first pitch fastball from Milton Mathews into a bases-clearing double. The walk-off double sent a roar through the crowd and gave Niagara Falls a thrilling 6-5 win.

"This place was rocking at the end," Hughes said.
