Idaho Falls Park was the site of a competitive game between the Idaho Falls Chukars and Connetquot Chiefs.
The Connetquot Chiefs did just enough to secure a 5-4 victory over the Idaho Falls Chukars at Idaho Falls Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Dan Bond, who captured player of the game honors. Bond, now 10-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 0, and allowing 4 earned runs. Frank Porter was called on to finish, recording his 5th save.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out, Alexei Ponikarov hit a 0-2 fastball from Dan Gill for a run-scoring single. It put Connetquot in front, 5-4.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Idaho Falls manager Jerry Moore said following the tough loss.
Connetquot currently is in second place in the Silver A at 51-28.
