Jets Clip Chukars in Tight Contest
|
Kennesaw left-hander Kevin Beckman made an effective start against the Idaho Falls Chukars at Idaho Falls Park, leading his team to a 3-1 win. Beckman, now 4-0, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 4, and allowing 1 earned run. The Jets boast a remarkable 57-14 record.
Kennesaw used the timely hitting of Walt Miller to capture the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Jets on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Beckman said.
