Dominant Performance by Donoghue in Washington Win
|
The Washington Generals got a strong performance from pitcher Phillip Donoghue, who stymied the Niagara Falls offense en route to a 4-1 win at Washington Park. The Expos, at 17-50, have lost 9 in a row.
Donoghue was in the zone all game. He frustrated Niagara Falls hitters while giving the Generals 8 innings of quality work. Donoghue threw 103 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 9 punchouts.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Donoghue told the Washington Herald.
