Late Rally by River Rats Secures Win
|
The Columbia River Rats did just enough to secure a 2-1 victory over the Idaho Falls Chukars at Columbia Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Jacob Petithomme, who captured player of the game honors. In 8 innings, Petithomme surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Kit Scheetz notched his 24th save in 26 chances.
Johnny Carter helped out the Columbia cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder was 1 for 4.
Carter called the triumph "a good team win."
The River Rats have an impressive 41-23 record.
