Gonzáles Rips Niagara Falls for 5 Hits
|
Tomás Gonzáles put on a hitting clinic today as the Kennesaw Jets dumped the Niagara Falls Expos 10-0 at Waterfall Park.
The Kennesaw shortstop made Niagara Falls defenders earn their pay, lashing Niagara Falls pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Gonzáles said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Tomás Gonzáles singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
This year Gonzáles has collected a .330 batting average to date with 38 hits in 115 at-bats, 10 RBIs, no home runs and scored 24 times. He has played in 26 games.
