Chukars Win 4-3 Walk-Off
|
Athletic Club KC pitcher Matt Walters gave the Chukars all they could handle, but in the end, Idaho Falls left Idaho Falls Park with a 4-3 win. Walters allowed 2 earned runs on 6 hits over 7.2 innings. Jim Perry picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Phil Greer was tagged with the loss. The win puts the Chukars at 16-36, while the U-24 drop to 26-26.
The Chukars were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when right fielder Jing-quo Sung turned a 1-1 fastball from Phil Greer into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent a roar through the crowd and gave Idaho Falls a thrilling 4-3 win.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Sung.
