Mao goes 3-for-5, Jets Move to 39-11
|
A 4-RBI performance from the 23-year old center fielder Gong Mao helped the Kennesaw Jets beat the Niagara Falls Expos, 14-5. Cristóbal Román got the win, improving to 5-0. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 8 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 10 and walking 2. Niagara Falls has now lost 5 straight.
Thierry Honoré drew 3 walks in 6 plate appearances, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for Kennesaw. The 24-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off António Jiménez. It was his 33rd RBI of the season.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Honoré told the Kennesaw News.
