Parker K's 11 En Route to 4-2 Plainsmen Win
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Nebraska Plainsmen got the win.
The Nebraska Plainsmen got a strong performance from pitcher Mark Parker, who stymied the Niagara Falls offense en route to a 4-2 win at Plain Old Stadium. Morton Steele closed the game out for Nebraska, earning his 12th save.
Parker was in the zone all game. He frustrated Niagara Falls hitters while giving the Plainsmen 8 innings of quality work. Parker threw 100 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 11 punchouts.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Parker said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The Plainsmen bumped their record to 23-23 with this latest triumph.
