Victory Pushes River Rats Record to 27-18
|
The Columbia River Rats got a strong performance from pitcher Francisco Santos, who stymied the Connetquot offense en route to a 2-1 win at Columbia Stadium. The winning pitcher was Santos, now 3-1. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. Kit Scheetz earned save number 19.
Early in the game, center fielder Johnny Carter had a 2-run home run for Columbia. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the River Rats on top, 2-0.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Carter said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
