Win Streak Now at 6 for Plainsmen

The Nebraska Plainsmen did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Mancelona Torch at Plain Old Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Jason Hartridge, who captured player of the game honors. Morton Steele closed the game out for Nebraska, earning his 11th save. Nebraska has now won 6 in a row.
Had Martin Dalling not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Dalling hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Plainsmen.
"We take it day by day here," said Hartridge, "and today was a good one for us."
