Torch Fall Short at Yellowknife
|
The Mancelona Torch got a sterling performance from pitcher Tomás Mata, but the Dragonblood still prevailed, 4-3. Mata was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. Yellowknife currently is in second place in the Silver A at 27-15.
Cruz Orneleas was the walk-off hero for Yellowknife. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Dragonblood designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Both teams played hard," said Yellowknife manager Andha Gangulee.
