Late Rally by Plainsmen Secures Win
|
The Nebraska Plainsmen defeated the Yellowknife Dragonblood, 3-2, in USSL Single A action at Plain Old Stadium, with Nebraska pitcher Seung-soo Yi named player of the game. The win was credited to Dong-soo Yun in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Santtu Öunap took the loss. Morton Steele finished to wrap up his 6th save.
Had Hal Gast not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Gast hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Plainsmen.
"It feels good to get this one," Gast told the Nebraska Observer.
Nebraska is now 14-16.
