Chiefs Rally to Eke Out Win
|
Connetquot Chiefs starter Ed Molloy turned in a sterling performance against the Washington Generals, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Connetquot reliever Frank Porter picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Sherman Harrison shouldered the loss. Connetquot has an impressive 17-7 record.
Ángel Ríos's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a cutter from Sherman Harrison for a run-scoring single. It put Connetquot in front, 3-2.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Connetquot skipper Don Nelson.
