The Idaho Falls Chukars did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Nebraska Plainsmen at Plain Old Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Chia-kang Xiao, who captured player of the game honors. The Plainsmen fall to 6-11 and continue to sputter in the early going.

Had Júlio Madrid not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Madrid hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Chukars.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Madrid said after the game.
