Fans who came to Torch Field watched the Kennesaw Jets and the Mancelona Torch fight to the finish.

Kennesaw beat Mancelona at Torch Field, escaping with a 9-8 win. The win in large part was due to catcher Joam Francia, who earned player of the game honors. He was 4 for 6 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. The win was Júlio Enríquez's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Enrique Cruz took the loss for Mancelona. Suhaila Zainuddin earned the save, his 1st.

Craig Beach had the most critical at-bat for Kennesaw. With one in the top of the 12th inning, Beach hit a first pitch fastball from Enrique Cruz for a run-scoring single. It put Kennesaw in front, 9-8.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Beach told the Kennesaw News. "It's as simple as that."

With their winning streak at 13, the Jets have raced to a strong start this season.
