Expos Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
The Columbia River Rats got a superb performance from pitcher Manuel Medranda, but the Niagara Falls Expos still won the game, 4-3. Medranda was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. The River Rats, now 8-6, continue their sluggish start.
Niagara Falls took a 3-2 lead on Arthur Chappell's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Columbia pitcher José Mejía in the bottom of the seventh.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Niagara Falls manager Dave Ross. "It's usually not just one thing."
