Bulls Defeat Storm, 7-5
|
The Belleville Bulls topped the Syracuse Storm by the score of 7-5, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Júlio Moreno. Moreno went 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 3 runs for the Bulls. Belleville starter Yoshihide Hirata was credited with the win after throwing 145 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-6. The Bulls saw their win-loss record go to 36-57. At the same time, the Storm fell to 45-48.
Zack McLean took Jorge Gonzáles deep in the bottom of the third. His 3-run home run put the Bulls on top, 5-3. In all, McLean had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Belleville manager Joe Young.
