Caterpillars Fall Short, 3-2, at Mt. Vernon

The Mt. Vernon Bulls got a stellar performance from pitcher Shadi Zafar, who handcuffed the Grand Forks offense en route to a 3-2 win at Ballpark of Mt. Vernon. Salvador Villegas got the save, the 5th for him this season. Mt. Vernon now owns a record of 42-50.
Rich Watkins went 1-4 for Mt. Vernon. The 22-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jorge Moreno. It was his 43rd RBI of the season.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Zafar.
