Victory Over Seahawks Takes York to 58-28
|
York rode a good effort from starter Paul Haines to beat the Myrtle Beach Seahawks at Seahwaks Stadium. The final score was 4-1. Haines, now 3-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. Marcos Mesorana earned the save for York, his 6th.
It could have been a different outcome for York, had it not been for John Clark, the 21-year old center fielder . Clark contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put York up, 2-1.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Haines.
York improves to 58-28 with the win. They lead their division by 8˝ games.
