Longoria Rips Alameda for 5 Hits
|
Rafael Longoria put on a hitting clinic today as the Syracuse Storm dumped the Alameda Airmen 8-3 at Alameda Field.
The Syracuse right fielder made Alameda defenders earn their pay, lashing Alameda pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Longoria said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Rafael Longoria singled in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Yong-chul Kim in the 9th.
