Both teams had their chances, but the Syracuse Storm eventually prevailed at Storm Park.

The Alameda Airmen got a superb performance from pitcher Carlos Rodríguez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Syracuse. The Storm won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Rodríguez was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings of 1-hit ball. José Colón was called on to finish, recording his 4th save.

The Storm got a big at-bat from first baseman Dave Maxwell. For the game, Maxwell went 1 for 4. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 43rd hit of the season gave Syracuse a 4-3 lead.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Maxwell.

The Storm now have a mark of 28-29.
